New member appointed to Carbondale City Council

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – The City Council of Carbondale has a new member.
LaCaje Hill was appointed to fill the vacant seat. The seat became available after the swearing in of Mayor Carolin Harvey.
Hill is a Carbondale native and spent lots of time volunteering with different organizations within the community as well as help coordinate food distribution events to support those in need.
“I am delighted to welcome LaCaje Hill to the City Council,” said Mayor Carolin Harvey. “His passion will be invaluable in helping us work towards the betterment of Carbondale.”
Hill’s appointment will remain in effect until the end of the term on April 30, 2025.
City council members believe Hill’s appointment will strengthen the representation of Carbondale’s diverse population and ensure that all voices are heard and valued in shaping the city’s future.
