New sober living home in Paducah to open for pregnant women, new mothers

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Four Rivers Behavioral Health is preparing to open a new living home for pregnant women and new mothers in December. Housing at Lily’s House will be available for up to six women who are pregnant and up to one-year post-partum.
It is located at 2447 Laclede Road in Paducah.
The housing is designed for women who have gone through treatment for a substance use disorder and have the goal of remaining drug free during their pregnancy and beyond, according to Four Rivers Behavioral Health. The residential program is overseen by a specialist who lives on site. Peer support is an important part of treatment because they bring lived experience and empathy to clients.
“Being in an environment with other women who are all working towards the same goal of being substance free creates an immediate support system that is often lacking for people in recovery,” said Thelma Hunter, vice president of clinical services for Four River Behavioral Health.
Lily’s House peer specialists will work with residents to remain sober and move towards finding a new home with their new born.
According to Four Rivers Behavioral Health, renovations began late summer by residents of CenterPoint Recovery Center for Men which is one of Four Rivers Behavioral Health’s services addressing substance use disorder.
In most cases, residents of Lily’s House will be chosen by referral from Four Rivers Behavioral Health’s Center for Specialized Addiction Services.
