JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — The City of Jackson is bringing back its “Walk Jackson” program in celebration of National Public Works Week, scheduled for May 17-23.
The program encourages residents to explore Jackson’s trail system and sidewalks while learning about the city’s public works services.
According to the city, a new trail location connected to a different aspect of public works will be featured each week from May 17 through June 27.
Participants can visit designated locations and submit entries through a QR code posted on “Walk Jackson” signs or by phone for those without smartphone access.
Residents who visit at least four locations and submit entries will receive an official “Walk Jackson” T-shirt. The city also plans to randomly select one participant each week for a prize giveaway.
Printed location sheets will be available through the Public Works Department for residents without social media or smartphone access.
