No credible threat found after report involving Ridgemont Elementary, officials say

OBION COUNTY, Tenn., (KBSI) — The Obion County Sheriff’s Office said it found no credible threat after investigating a report of potential violence involving Ridgemont Elementary School.
Authorities said the report was received April 26, prompting an immediate investigation. Deputies quickly identified the source of the message, and the student believed to be responsible was interviewed in the presence of a parent or guardian.
Following the investigation, officials determined there was no threat to students, staff or school facilities.
The sheriff’s office said it takes all school-related threats seriously and investigates each report to ensure safety.
As a precaution, additional deputies will be present at county schools, officials said.
