Non-hazardous train derailment causes road closure for those traveling in Williamson County

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – The Williamson County Highway Department has issued a road closure after a non-hazardous train derailment.

The highway department says the derailment happened on December 27 and road closures are effective immediately.

Crawford Road between Locust Grove Road and Kaskaskia Road is closed and motorists should seek alternate routes.

The road closure is estimated to be closed for 36-48 hours as crews work on the derailment.
