Nonprofit to host open house for work skills training program

CHARLESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — Meet the Need, Inc., a Charleston-based nonprofit, will host an open house on June 17 to showcase its new Work Skills Training and Education Program (WSTEP).

The program, funded by a $2.5 million federal grant, offers free training in forklift operation, CDL classes, shipyard welding and computer software development/coding to residents of 11 counties in southeastern Missouri.

The open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 700 W. Marshall St. in Charleston.

Meet The Need, Inc. partners with local organizations, including Three Rivers and Codefi, to administer the training programs.
