Notre Dame names valedictorian, salutatorian for Class of 2026

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Notre Dame Regional High School has named its valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2026.
Elena Ripperda was named valedictorian, recognized for her academic achievements and involvement in numerous school activities and service organizations. She earned multiple honors throughout high school, including awards in math, science and Spanish, and participated in several honor societies and leadership programs.
Ripperda is active in the school’s music and service programs, including Select Singers, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Camp Ondessonk. She plans to attend Saint Louis University on a pre-med track, majoring in biology with a minor in Spanish.
Lucy Ripperda was named salutatorian. She is involved in multiple school organizations, including International Club, National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America. She has also earned academic honors in Spanish and mathematics and participates in music programs, including Select Singers and regional honor choirs.
Lucy Ripperda plans to attend Saint Louis University, where she will major in healthcare management and minor in Spanish and public health.
Both students are members of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro, Illinois, and have participated in service programs through their school and community.
