PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — New York Times best-selling author April Henry will visit Perry County Middle School on April 10, thanks to a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The grant, awarded in partnership with school libraries at the Windsor, Dunklin, and Northwest School Districts, will bring Henry to the school for an assembly where she will discuss her writing process, inspiration and ideas.

Henry, known for her acclaimed mysteries for adults and teens, has written over 15 novels, including “Girl, Stolen” and “The Girl I Used to Be.

Her young adult novels are particularly popular among sixth- to eighth graders at Perry County Middle School, where she is the most-often borrowed author in the thriller/mystery genre.

Students are participating in various activities leading up to Henry’s visit, including reading her books, watching video recordings of teachers reading the first chapter of her novels, and participating in a scavenger hunt.

The school is encouraging parents and family members to read Henry’s books with their students, promoting shared interests and conversations.
