OBION COUNTY, Tenn., (KBSI) — Obion County Schools will launch a new childcare program, Tiny Rebel Academy, for the 2026-27 school year.

The academy will be located at Lake Road School and will provide care for infants and toddlers in a safe and engaging learning environment.

District Daycare Director Sandy Simpson will oversee the program, while Lake Road Principal Melissa Merritt will serve as the on-site supervisor.

Tiny Rebel Academy will offer three age-based classrooms:

* Infant Class: 6 weeks to 12 months
* Toddler 1 Class: 13 months to 24 months
* Toddler 2 Class: 25 months to 36 months

Families interested in enrolling their children can pick up applications at the Obion County Board of Education Office or Lake Road School.

School officials said a waitlist will be established once classrooms reach capacity.

The district said the new program is designed to provide high-quality care while helping young children learn, grow and prepare for future educational success.
