Obion County Sheriff’s K9 Sammie to receive protective vest donation

OBION COUNTY, Tenn., (KBSI) — K9 Sammie of the Obion County Sheriff’s Office will soon receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

The non-profit organization, established in 2009, provides bullet and stab protective vests to law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.

The vests are U.S.-made, custom-fitted, and National Institute of Justice certified.

Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has donated over 5,970 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states.

The organization relies on private and corporate donations to support its mission.

K9 Sammie’s new vest is expected to arrive within ten weeks. The donation is part of Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.’s efforts to protect law enforcement K9s, estimated to number around 30,000 nationwide.
