Obion County Sheriff’s Office wins first place in Tennessee traffic safety competition

OBION COUNTY, Tenn., (KBSI) — The Obion County Sheriff’s Office earned first place in its category during the Tennessee Highway Safety Office’s 22nd annual Law Enforcement Challenge.

The award was presented during the 38th annual Tennessee Lifesavers Conference, held Sept. 16-18 in Nashville.

The sheriff’s office placed first in the category for agencies with 26 to 45 officers. A total of 68 law enforcement agencies across Tennessee submitted applications for this year’s competition.

The Law Enforcement Challenge recognizes agencies for their efforts to improve traffic safety through public education, enforcement and community partnerships aimed at reducing crashes, injuries and fatalities.

Winners are determined by a points system that evaluates qualifying traffic safety activities within each agency’s category.

The Obion County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Tennessee Highway Safety Office and local residents for their support.
