Obion County woman charged with murder in husband’s shooting

OBION COUNTY, Tenn., (KBSI) — A woman has been charged with first-degree murder after deputies said she fatally shot her husband Tuesday at their Obion County home.

The Obion County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded around 12:45 p.m. Sept. 16 to a 911 call from Gloria Ann Jenkins, who reported she had shot her husband, Paul Jenkins, at their residence near Rives. Deputies found Paul Jenkins dead at the scene.

Gloria Jenkins was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Obion County Jail. She is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday afternoon at the Obion County Courthouse.

Family members raised allegations of prior domestic issues, but the sheriff’s department said no official reports of domestic abuse involving the couple had been filed.

The case remains under investigation. Authorities said further details will be released as appropriate.
