Officer-involved shooting in Ripley county ends in fatality

RIPLEY COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) – The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance at approximately 2:13 p.m. on April 6, 2025, for a barricaded male subject at a residence seven miles west of Doniphan.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the man was armed with a knife. At approximately 5:33 p.m., the subject, still armed, moved toward a Ripley County Deputy and a Missouri State Trooper.
The officers gave verbal commands to drop the knife, but the subject did not comply and continued to approach the deputy. Both officers fired their weapons, striking the man.
Medical aid was provided, but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The officers involved in the shooting were not injured.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control is investigating the incident. Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be forwarded to the Ripley County Prosecuting Attorney for review.
