Officers investigating after stray bullet goes through apartment wall
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Police are investigating an accidental discharge after a stray bullet enters an apartment.
On October 15, at approximately 11:00 pm, officers from the Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to a shots-fired report in the 3000 block of Mimosa.
Upon arrival, they spoke with the reporting individual, who claimed a bullet had pierced their apartment wall.
Further investigation led officers to contact the occupant of the adjacent apartment, who admitted to an accidental firearm discharge.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The firearm was seized, and the incident remains under investigation.
