Ohio man with truck, chainsaw aids Glenallen tornado survivors
GLENALLEN, Mo. (KBSI) – One Ohio man with a chainsaw has come to help tornado survivors in Glenallen. Tom Senft has traveled many miles to help residents recover from the devastation of an EF2 tornado.
“I was in West Kentucky last year and three different places and I’ve just been doing this since 1971.”
While in Glenallen, Senft drove through town to reach out to those with branches on their homes or vehicles.
“I pack up all the time and I take stuff with me everything that I need. I got out on my own and I stopped here at this house because I saw some people that needed some help.”
For tornado survivor Michelle Kaempfer, seeing how volunteers stepped in to remove the tree from her parent’s home wasn’t surprising.
“There’s people from St. Louis coming down, Dexter, I mean everybody’s just coming together and it feels really good, especially in this time of need that everyone will come together, and they will help,” Kaempfer said. “They are luckier than some others in the area. They are safe and that’s all that matters.”
There are over 10 chainsaw crews in Glenallen to aid residents in helping remove tree limbs from homes.
