Old Town Cape Inc. hosts annual commercial property open house

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI)- Old Town is hosting their annual commercial open house, leaving opportunity to those looking for a future in business, “We have some places that haven’t been vacant very long and they’re now opened up.” Says, Liz Hayes the director for Old Town Cape says the opportunity to spark interest in people is why Cape is so successful,

“We have seen a really big return with this event, this is the third year in a row we’ve done this commercial property open house that one year later after this event occurs at least fifty percent of the properties are either leased or sold.”

Bringing in people to see the available properties, there’s hope someone will want to start a future business in the Cape Girardeau area.

“It’s a beautiful thing kind of the effort they’re putting to kind of have it booming back like it used to be.”

Says owner of Hechts Home Decor & More, Brittany Perkins, says revitalizing and running a business in downtown Cape’s Hechts Building was a dream she’s had since she was little. “It is an honor to be apart of this buildings history now.”
Nearly twelve properties are available to buy or lease for business in downtown Cape.
