One dead in two-vehicle crash in Union County

UNION COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Union County, according to Illinois State Police.
Troopers with Illinois State Police Troop 10 responded to the crash at U.S. 51 and Nimmo Road, south of Anna, around 8:48 p.m. Oct. 10.
Authorities said one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash prompted an extended closure of the intersection while investigators examined the scene. Deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
The victim’s identity has not been released, and authorities have not provided details about what caused the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
