One dead, two injured after shooting and crash in Dyer County

DYER COUNTY, Tenn., (KBSI) — One man was killed, and two others were critically injured following a shooting Thursday morning in the Lenox area of Dyer County, authorities said.

According to the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a shooting and found one man dead from at least one gunshot wound. A second man was also shot and was transported by ambulance with critical injuries.

Investigators said the suspected shooter fled the scene in a vehicle and later collided head-on with a semi-truck on Interstate 155 in what authorities described as an apparent suicide attempt. The suspect was transported by EMS and remains in critical condition.

Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public. Both scenes remain active but secure.

The Dyer County Criminal Investigation Division has taken over the investigation and is processing evidence and interviewing witnesses. Officials said the investigation is in its early stages and details may change as more information becomes available.
