One in custody after a shooting incident at Kentucky Oaks Mall

Paducah, Ky. (KBSI) – An altercation involving three people and a firearm happened at Kentucky Oaks Mall.

At 10:37 a.m. on November 29, 2023, officers with the Paducah Police Department responded to a disturbance call.

Anthony Williams, age 37, of Cairo Illinois was arrested by the Paducah Police Department after firing his gun into the Kentucky Oaks Mall Parking lot.

Williams was involved in an argument that started at the food court inside Kentucky Oaks mall that escalated and turned into a physical altercation outside in the mall parking lot.

Williams went to his car and got a handgun. He fired at the man he had been arguing with, before fleeing the scene in a Dodge Charger.

Officers with Paducah Police Department located the Charger on Cairo Road and stopped it at H.C. Mathis Drive and 14th Street. Williams and a female passenger were inside the vehicle. Williams was arrested and the handgun was located in the vehicle.
The passenger was interviewed and released. Paducah officers were assisted in the response by officers with various agencies.

Williams was arrested and charged with attempted murder, five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and drug offenses after he discharged his gun in the mall parking lot.

Investigators say no injuries have been reported.
