One injured in McCracken County crash after driver reportedly runs stop sign

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — One person was injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Old Mayfield Road and Krebs Station Road.
Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at approximately 12:18 p.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, Claire Tyra, 18, was driving a passenger car on Krebs Station Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Old Mayfield Road. Her vehicle collided with a pickup truck driven by Thomas Coreau, 57, who was traveling on Old Mayfield Road.
Coreau was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was closed for about one hour while emergency crews cleared the scene.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hendron Fire Department, Mercy Regional EMS, Stinnetts Towing and Meadows Towing.
