One person injured in Cape Girardeau shooting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KBSI) – Around 5:45 pm on Sept. 11 Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to the 1100 block of North Sprigg for a shot fired call.
When officers arrived, they found that a female had suffered a gunshot wound to her leg.
According to Cape Girardeau Public Information’s Officer Bobby Newton the victim was then located at Rallys located across the street from SEMO DPS.
The person was taken to the hospital and the scene was cleared by police by 6:40 p.m.
There are no suspects in custody at this time according to the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Southeast Missouri State University sent out an email to students at 6:23 p.m. that there was gun violence reported near the area.
