FOX23 News at 9 p.m

ORAN, Mo., (KBSI) — Oran R-III Superintendent Dr. Adam Friga said school officials responded immediately after a reported verbal threat at the district’s middle school.

According to Friga, several students reported that a middle school student made a verbal statement related to school safety earlier in the day. School administrators intervened in accordance with district policies and procedures.

Friga said there is no credible threat to school safety at this time.

Due to student confidentiality laws, district officials declined to provide details about any disciplinary action connected to the incident.

The superintendent encouraged students and families to report safety concerns directly to school staff rather than relying on information shared through social media, noting that some circulating information may be inaccurate.

District officials thanked the students who reported the concern and said they take all safety matters seriously.
