Orange Barrel Report 4/5

FOX23 News at 9 p.m

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — Weather permitting, a long-term lane restriction is scheduled to begin Monday, April 13 on KY 121 at mile point 5.25 in Calloway County, as a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet begins work on a bridge replacement project.

The bridge over Blood River, located about half a mile west of KY 444/Dunbar Road near New Concord, will be replaced in two phases — first northbound, then southbound.

During the week of April 13, crews will install temporary railing and a barrier wall, along with a temporary traffic signal to control alternating one-lane traffic. Demolition and construction for Phase 1 will follow.

Jim Smith Contracting is serving as the prime contractor. A lane restriction will remain in place throughout the project, with completion expected by summer 2027.

Route N in Stoddard County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.

The closure will impact the section from Route E to County Road 536 near Circle City, Missouri.

Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, April 6 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
