(KBSI) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is planning daytime lane restrictions on the U.S. 68/KY 80 Cumberland River/Lake Barkley Bridge at Canton in Trigg County, starting on Tuesday, August 19.

Crews will be using an under-bridge inspection vehicle (UBIV) to inspect the bridge starting at 8 a.m. each day for approximately four days. During this time, a team of climbers will also be conducting a hands-on inspection of the bridge.

Motorists should be alert for signs and message boards guiding traffic to shift into the open lane. The sidewalk will be closed during the inspection.

Lane restrictions are expected to be lifted by August 22 at about 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Route J in Stoddard County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.

This section of roadway is located from Route F to County Road 237 near Bloomfield, Missouri.

Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, Aug. 18 through Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
