Orange Barrel Report August 14

(KBSI) Several road closures and construction updates have been announced for the area:
Lexington Avenue westbound is closed between Carolina Lane and Perryville Road for several weeks, with substantial completion of the project anticipated in October 2025.
South Sprigg Street remains closed to through traffic, with residential blocks accessible only to local traffic.

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is planning a nighttime lane closure on U.S. 62 in Marshall County near Truck Plaza Lane on Sunday, Aug. 17, as part of a project to retire a 161-kV overhead transmission line.

Between the hours of 4 and 7 a.m., eastbound traffic on U.S. 62 will be reduced to one lane between mile point 8.79 to 9, or from the beneath the I-24 overpass to just before Truck Plaza Lane.

To safely complete the work, traffic on U.S. 62 will be blocked near mile point 9 for about 15 minutes as old lines are removed.
