PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) —4th Street, east of KY 1824/Murray Highway, in Hardin has reopened to traffic.
A new bridge was built at mile point 0.1 over Martins Creek, between Jeffrey Street and Allison Drive. The project began in early July and was completed ahead of schedule.
The City of Hardin was awarded $450,000 for this bridge replacement project through the state’s County-City Bridge Improvement Program (CCBIP).
Approximately 154 vehicles travel this section of 4th Street in an average day.
There will be no overnight detour tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 26 on Interstate 24 between Exit 27 (Kentucky Dam/Calvert City) and Exit 31 (Grand Rivers). However, detours will resume on I-24 eastbound on Monday, Aug. 31 and Tuesday, Sept. 1, as part of an ongoing work zone in Marshall County.
Detours will be implemented between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly.
Crews are milling and paving in the work zone. All work is weather-dependent.
- Eastbound Detour: Take Exit 27, follow U.S. 62 and KY 453 to re-enter I-24 eastbound at Exit 31.
Motorists should watch for law enforcement and flaggers directing traffic, allow extra travel time and use caution.
A reduced speed limit of 55 mph is in effect in the work zone. The overall project is expected to be completed by fall 2026.
Route 84 in Pemiscot County will be closed as railroad crews perform railroad maintenance.
This section of the roadway is located from Route D to County Road 346 near Caruthersville, Missouri.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31 through 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1.
