CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Multiple road closures are scheduled in western Kentucky and southeast Missouri as transportation crews complete bridge and culvert projects, officials said.
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans an extended closure of KY 1420, also known as Noble Road, at mile point 3.95 in McCracken County beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23. The closure is necessary to demolish and replace the existing bridge over a branch of Massac Creek. The work is along KY 1420 between KY 2411 and Meredith Road. Construction is expected to be completed by late April, weather permitting.
In Butler County, Missouri Department of Transportation crews will close Route W from Route KK to County Road 508 to replace a culvert under the roadway. Weather permitting, the closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Construction also continues on the Route AA bridge over U.S. Route 60 in Miner, Missouri. Contractor crews plan to set girders for the new overpass, requiring temporary nighttime closures of U.S. 60.
The eastbound lanes of U.S. 60 will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. March 5, 6 and 7. The westbound lanes will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. March 9, 10 and 11. Traffic will be diverted to a signed detour during the closures. All work is weather permitting.
