Orange Barrel Report Jan. 20th

(KBSI)— The Illinois Department of Transportation will close Interstate 255 in Saint Clair County for six months starting Feb. 1, weather permitting.

The closure is part of a project funded by Rebuild Illinois, which includes repairs to the roadway, bridges, and safety improvements. Crews will also install new lighting, signage, and drainage systems.

In Missouri, drivers can expect lane reductions on U.S. Route 60 in New Madrid and Interstate 57 in Mississippi County. Traffic will be restricted to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction.

Construction crews will replace an overhead sign truss, requiring 15-minute traffic stops. Work will take place overnight from Feb. 4-14, weather permitting, between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.
