KBSI FOX23 News at 9 p.m.

(KBSI) Reminder, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is planning a daytime closure on the U.S. 51 Ohio River “Cairo” Bridge connecting Wickliffe, Ky., and Cairo, Ill., on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Weather permitting, crews will inspect the electrical conduits and junction boxes for the bridge’s navigation lighting system.

To facilitate the work, the bridge will be closed to traffic between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Motorists traveling between Kentucky and Illinois should use the I-24 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah and Metropolis as an alternate route.

Route M in Wright and Webster counties will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.

This section of roadway is located from Cedar Road in Wright County to Amity Road in Webster County. While work takes place, the road will be open to local traffic only.

Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
