(KBSI) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has closed a section of KY 795/Scale Road in Marshall County due to a failed cross drain at mile point 8.

Road Closed signs will be placed at KY 1396/George Clark Road and Dillard Bailey Road, or about mile points 6.35 to 8.4.

The roadway will remain closed until further notice. Repairs will be scheduled at a later time.

Motorists are asked to self-detour.

Route 51 will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance on the Chester Bridge over the Mississippi River.

This section of roadway is located from County Road 946 near Claryville, Missouri to E Kaskaskia Street in Chester, Illinois.

Weather permitting, work will take place tomorrow, from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
