CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Motorists traveling on Route K in Cape Girardeau County should expect overnight lane reductions beginning June 29 as crews complete asphalt paving work.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Southeast District, Route K will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction from Michael Drive to County Road 206 near Cape Girardeau.
Weather permitting, construction crews will work nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. beginning Monday, June 29, and continuing through Monday, July 20.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area, watch for workers and equipment, and expect potential delays during overnight hours.
The restrictions are part of an ongoing roadway improvement project in the area.
Route E in Bollinger County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
This section of roadway is located from Route TT to the Bollinger County Line.
Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
