Orange Barrel Report March 19th

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will close the Interstate 55 Mississippi River Bridge this weekend as part of ongoing construction on the I-55 and Crump interchange. The closure is set to begin on Friday, March 21, at 8 p.m. and will remain in effect until Monday, March 24, at 6 a.m., weather permitting. Officials have stated that this will be the final full closure of the bridge for the project.

Meanwhile, in Crittenden County, Kentucky, a section of U.S. 60 will be closed beginning April 1 to allow for the replacement of a concrete box culvert. The closure will take place between KY 855 and KY 297, with work scheduled to last through April 2. Crews are expected to be on-site throughout both days, contingent on weather conditions.

Additionally, a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will implement lane restrictions on the Cumberland River Bridge along Interstate 24 starting Monday, March 24. Crews will conduct inspections using an under-bridge inspection vehicle, beginning each day at 8 a.m. for approximately five days.
