CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) Benton’s Tater Day Spring Festival is April 3-6.
The City of Benton will be closing a portion of U.S. 641/Main Street and U.S. 641/Poplar Street for a Vendor Fair near the court square starting at about 4 p.m. Friday until 3 p.m. Monday.
This will impact Main and Poplar between 10th and 12th streets, or mile points 8.28 to 8.41. Watch for signs.
Also, as part of the festival, streets in downtown Benton will be temporarily blocked from about 10:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, Apr. 6 for the annual Tater Day Parade.
The parade route includes U.S. 641/Main Street from 5th to 13th streets and U.S. 641/Poplar Street from 13th to 5th streets.
Route NN in Perry County will be closed as contractor crews replace the bridge over the South Fork Saline Creek near Brewer, Missouri.
This section of roadway is located between Peaceful Valley Drive and County Road 840.
Weather permitting, work will begin at 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 15 with completion anticipated Wednesday, Sept. 30. This road will remain closed until the work is complete.
The work zone will be marked with signs, and a marked detour will be in place. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
