CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will close KY 1099/7th Street at its intersection with KY 125/Union City Highway, or at mile point 2.269, in the city of Hickman (Fulton County), starting Monday, Mar. 9, weather permitting.
Motorists should also expect one-lane traffic via an alternating traffic light on KY 125/Union City Highway at this intersection, or near mile point 5.4.
Crews will be constructing a new box culvert. Work is expected to last until about mid-July for this first phase.
A marked detour will direct traffic back to KY 1099 using KY 1463.
KYTC District 1 will issue updates as the work progresses.
The entire project is anticipated to be completed by Nov. 2026.
Route BB in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as construction crews perform barrier wall modifications and overlay the roadway.
This section of roadway is located from Route C near Advance, Missouri to Route M near Aquilla, Missouri.
Weather permitting, the work will begin Monday, March 16 at 7 a.m. with completion anticipated Sunday, Nov. 1. While work is underway, drivers should anticipate short, intermittent lane reductions.
