CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is planning to close a section of KY 1824/Murray Highway in Marshall County, starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 21, weather permitting.

This will impact KY 1824 between Sid Darnall Road and Dowdy Cemetery Road, or about mile points 3.9 to 5. This closure is necessary to perform repairs to areas of base failure along the roadway.

Work is expected to be completed by 2:30 p.m.

Northbound Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as construction crews perform bridge maintenance on Bloomfield Road overpass.

This section of roadway is located from mile marker 95.4 to mile marker 95.6 in Cape Girardeau.

Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
