Orange Barrel Report October 29

KBSI FOX23 News at 9 p.m.

(KBSI) KY 473/Gage Road in Ballard County will be temporarily blocked near mile point 7, south of Pines Lane, starting Monday, Nov. 3, as part of ongoing work for the new U.S. 60 realignment near Kevil.

The closure is expected to remain in place until Friday, Nov. 7. During this time, motorists should plan to self-detour.

Currently, traffic is using a temporary diversion route on KY 473/Gage Road, which will be removed during the closure.

When the road reopens, northbound traffic on Gage Road will travel on a portion of the new U.S. 60 and use a connector road to reach U.S. 60. Likewise, motorists seeking to head southbound on Gage Road will need to travel via U.S. 60 and the connector road to access the new U.S. 60 and then continue onto KY 473/Gage Road.

The existing KY 473/Gage Road south of Pines Lane will end and a cul-de-sac will be built.

Please note: A reduced speed limit of 45 mph remains in effect throughout the work zone, including on the temporary diversion route.

“Rushing Drive in Herrin, Illinois will be reduced to one lane of traffic from 7:00 am to 4:00pm M-F from Tipp Drive to Ritter Road beginning October 30th for roadway construction until further notice. Please use caution in work zones and plan for traveling delays in this area.”

Route 32 in Ste. Genevieve will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as contractor crews improve sidewalks. This section of roadway is located from Rozier St. to Linn Dr. in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. This project is part of the Missouri Department of Transportation’s initiative to bring roadway facilities into compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, Nov. 3 through Friday, Jan. 16 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
