(KBSI) A nighttime work zone on Interstate 24 in Marshall County will start on Monday, Oct. 6 as part of a project to reinforce the shoulders of two bridges: the I-24 bridge over U.S. 62 at Exit 27/Kentucky Dam and the Tennessee River Bridge at the Marshall-Livingston County Line.

To facilitate the work, I-24 will be blocked overnight at the work zone for approximately seven nights, with traffic detoured by law enforcement.

Lane Restrictions and Detour Schedule:

Oct. 6, 7, and 8 – I-24 Eastbound near Exit 27

Lane restrictions from 7-9 p.m.; followed by a detour from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detour Route: Exit 27 off-ramp to U.S. 62, then back onto I-24 eastbound via the on-ramp.
Oct. 9 and 10 – I-24 Westbound near Exit 27

Lane restrictions from 7-9 p.m.; followed by a detour from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detour Route: Exit 27 off-ramp to U.S. 62, then back onto I-24 westbound via the on-ramp.
Oct. 13 and 14 – I-24 Eastbound near the Tennessee River Bridge

Lane restrictions from 7-9 p.m.; followed by a detour from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detour Route: Exit 27 to U.S. 62 and KY 453, returning to I-24 eastbound at Exit 31.
Oct. 15 – I-24 Westbound near the Tennessee River Bridge

Lane restrictions from 7-9 p.m.; followed by a detour from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detour Route: Exit 31 to KY 453 and U.S. 62, returning to I-24 westbound at Exit 27.
Please note: All work is weather-dependent, and schedules may change

Route Z in Pemiscot County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs. 

This section of roadway is located from Route 412 near Hayti, Missouri to Route 164 near Steele, Missouri.

Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, Oct. 6 through Thursday, Oct. 9 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
