SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — Route Y in Perry County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.
The section of roadway is located between Route A to County Road 450 near Altenburg, Missouri.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has been notified that demolition of a building at 103 E. 11th Street in Benton, near the courthouse square, is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 30, weather permitting.
TRAFFIC IMPACT: Northbound lane restriction on U.S. 641/Poplar Street between 12th Street and 10th Street for approximately two weeks.
Traffic will shift into the right-hand lane in the work zone.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will conduct lane and ramp closures on Interstate 65 in Williamson County.
Starting Tuesday, September 29, through Wednesday, September 30, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., crews with Vulcan Construction will conduct alternating ramp closures in both directions at Exit 65 (State Route 96/Murfreesboro Road) for resurfacing operations. Signage will be in place.
Additionally, I-65 at Exit 61 (Goose Creek Bypass) will experience intermittent ramp closures as crews move milling and paving equipment through the interchange.
This work is associated with TDOT’s I-65 resurfacing project from near I-840 to Liberty Pike, which is anticipated for completion by December 2026. You can find more information about this resurfacing project here: TDOT’s 3-Year Pavement Plan.
All work is weather-dependent. As always, drivers are reminded to allow additional time, slow down, and move over when traveling through a work zone. The Move Over Law was passed in 2006. The penalty for violating the law in Tennessee includes the possibility of up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of $500.
