Osage Beach Police Officer killed in the line of duty

OSAGE BEACH, MO (KBSI) – Police officer Phylicia Carson died after a vehicle pursuit near the Richland area in the early morning of Aug. 31.

Officer Carson attempted a traffic stop on Westbound Highway 57 when the vehicle accelerated. Camden County Sheriff’s Office found her police car in flames on the side of the road with her dead inside. The suspect was apprehended around 10 minutes later and taken into custody. The case is under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Carson was a mother of six and wife to K9 Deputy Grant Carson.
