OSHA cites Perryville manufacturer, proposes $91K in safety penalties

PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Federal workplace safety officials have issued multiple citations to Gilster-Mary Lee Corporation following a safety inspection at the company’s Perryville facility, according to records from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The OSHA inspection opened June 26, 2025, at the facility located at 615 Old St. Marys Road, remains active. The inspection was conducted by OSHA’s St. Louis Area Office and was classified as a partial-scope safety inspection.
OSHA records show the inspection resulted in an initial total of eight violations, including seven serious violations and one repeat violation. After an informal settlement process, six violations remain, with a current proposed penalty totaling $91,262. The initial proposed penalties totaled $207,112.
The violations cited involve federal workplace safety standards related to industrial safety. Abatement deadlines for the cited violations are listed as May 15, 2026. OSHA records indicate the violations are under informal settlement and that no failure-to-abate penalties have been assessed.
The inspection is listed as open, and OSHA notes that citation details may be amended as part of the settlement process. Employers and employee representatives receive official citations upon issuance, and additional information may be posted as the case progresses.
