GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) —Traffic remains restricted on Interstate 69 southbound near the 21-mile marker following an overturned semi-truck.
According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, at least one southbound lane will remain closed for several hours as crews continue cleanup operations. Authorities warned that the interstate could be completely shut down at times while the scene is cleared.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect lane closures and delays throughout the afternoon and are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
Southbound traffic can currently exit Interstate 69 at Exit 21, which connects to U.S. 45 South and Kentucky 80. If a full closure becomes necessary, drivers can detour using U.S. 45 South and re-enter Interstate 69 in the Wingo area via Kentucky 339.
The crash occurred earlier Monday near the 21-mile marker. No information about injuries has been released..
