Owensboro man arrested after foot chase with Crittenden County deputies

CRITTENDEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A 40-year-old Owensboro man was arrested Wednesday evening after a foot chase with sheriff’s deputies.

Michael W. Overbaugh, a parole absconder, was taken into custody on Green Road in the western end of the county. Deputies had responded to a fugitive complaint around 8:30 p.m.

Overbaugh, who had previously pleaded guilty to felony charges including trafficking in methamphetamine, fled on foot when he saw deputies. He was struck with a Taser and received additional deployments after failing to follow verbal commands.

Overbaugh was eventually subdued and arrested without further incident. He was transported to a hospital before being lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Overbaugh faces charges including fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, failure to appear in court, parole violations and a theft-related offense.
