Paducah declares May as Mental Health Awareness Month

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Paducah Mayor George Bray has issued a proclamation recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month.

The proclamation was presented during a City Commission meeting to Ashley Walters, behavioral operations manager with Mercy Health.

Representatives from several organizations focused on mental health and wellness attended the meeting.

City officials said the designation highlights the importance of promoting awareness, education and community support for mental health.
