Paducah man arrested after police find drugs, firearm

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man faces drug charges after police say they found a handgun, cash and drugs.

Rafael Rodriguez Rios, 23, of the 400 block of Thurman Street faces charges of trafficking in a controlled substance (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives, enhanced by firearm possession) and possession of marijuana.

A tip led police to a home on the 400 block of Thurman Street on Thursday, Jan. 27.

Their investigation revealed enough evidence to obtain a search warrant. The warrant was served Thursday afternoon, and the resident, Rafael Rodriguez Rios, was arrested. During a search of the home, detectives found about 20 suspected fentanyl pills, marijuana, nearly $5,700 cash and a Glock 9mm handgun with a 50-round high-capacity magazine, according to the Paducah Police Department.

Rios was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
