PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A Paducah man was arrested Friday after police say he made threats of violence on social media targeting the Paducah Tilghman High School football game.
Detectives with the Paducah Police Department identified the suspect as Shaundell Q. White, 18, and took him into custody in the 1900 block of Guthrie Avenue. He is charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
Police Chief Brian Laird said the department is working closely with Paducah Public Schools to ensure safety at the game.
“We take threats like this very seriously,” Laird said in a statement. “These actions will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Parents, students and fans should know we will have an increased presence tonight to ensure the game is a positive experience.”
