Paducah man arrested after traffic stop, foot chase

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man faces drug charges after a foot chase with a McCracken County Sheriff’s deputy.

A deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on South 28th Street in Paducah on June 22 at 12:43 a.m.

Whe the vehicle stopped, the driver tried to run away on foot but he was quickly arrested, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Dakota J. Hayes, 21, of Paducah faces charges of no eye protective device (motorcycle), fleeing or evading police 2nd degree on foot, possession of controlled substance first degree, first offense-methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and operating on suspended license.

Hayes was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hayes was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
