Paducah man charged with 2 counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, stolen property

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man faces charges after police say he barricaded himself in his apartment and refused to respond to officers.
Kenneth Pinnegar, 56, was arrested Tuesday, October 3 on a warrant charging him with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and receiving stolen property.
A “shots fired” call resulted in the arrest after he barricaded himself in his apartment and refused to respond to officers, according to the Paducah Police Department.
Two men told police Pinnegar started arguing with them in a parking lot and went back to the doorway of his apartment and fired two shots at them then left on foot, according to police.
Police were unable to find Pinnegar after searching the area. After obtaining a search warrant for his apartment, police say a .22-caliber handgun, that was reported stolen, was found along with ammunition.
Later, a witness called to report seeing Pinnegar return to his apartment, according to police. Surveillance footage confirmed that he had entered his apartment prompting police to return with an arrest warrant for Pinnegar.
After not responding to officers they entered the apartment to find Pinnegar locked in the bathroom. He continued to not respond resulting in pepper balls being deployed which was when Pinnegar surrendered, according to police.
He was taken to Baptist Health Paducah to be checked due to his level of intoxication.
He was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
