Paducah man dies after head-on crash with semi truck

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man died in a crash Tuesday night in McCracken County.

McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 9-mile marker of Interstate 24 for a head-on collision at 9:45 p.m. on March 5.

Deputies say a 2008 Cadillac CTS driven by Tri Nguyen, 20, of Paducah was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate. It was also reported the vehicle did not have the headlights on.

The Cadillac crashed head-on with a 2024 Freightliner driven by Carol Gordon, 64, of McDonough, Georgia. Augustine Idemudia, 37, of Cypress, Texas was a passenger.

Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passengers of the Freightliner were taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threating injuries.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Mercy Regional Ambulance, Reidland-Farley Fire Department, McCracken County DES, Speedy’s Towing and McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton.
