Paducah man facing drug charges after sheriff’s office receives tips of illegal drug sales

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man faces drug charges after the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office began receiving information alleging illegal drugs were being sold out of a home on Linden Street in Paducah.

Detectives identified the resident as Jerome R. Britt, 39, and obtained a search warrant for his home.

Britt faces charges of trafficking in controlled substance, 1st Degree, 2nd OR > Offense (> OR = 4 grams cocaine) – firearm enhanced, trafficking in marijuana (Less Than 8 OZ) 2nd > Offense – Firearm Enhanced, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and two counts of possession of handgun by convicted felon.

On Wednesday, December 7, around 1:30 p.m., detectives and deputies executed the search warrant on Britt’s home, 618 Linden Street.

During the search, detectives found more than 172 grams of marijuana, approximately 18 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 6.3 grams of powder cocaine, digital scales, and other items of drug paraphernalia consistent with illegal drug trafficking, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Two loaded handguns were also located and seized, along with $4,654 in US Currency, which is believed to be the proceeds from illegal drugs sales, according to the sheriff’s office.

Britt has an extensive criminal history, which includes prior convictions for trafficking cocaine and other illegal controlled substances.

He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Paducah Police Department.
