PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The Paducah Police Department is honoring fallen Sgt. Ryan Hudson, who died in August 2025 after suffering a heart attack following his response to a deadly shooting scene in Paducah.
According to the department, Hudson responded Aug. 12, 2025, to a shooting involving multiple victims, including a pregnant woman, in the 900 block of Boyd Street, where hundreds of people had gathered.
Police said Hudson assisted with the evolving scene and aftermath of the shooting despite beginning to feel ill while on duty. His condition worsened in the days that followed, and he sought medical treatment two days later. He was hospitalized and died the following day.
One person injured in the shooting later died. Authorities said four people, including a juvenile, were charged with complicity to commit first-degree murder and complicity to commit first-degree fetal homicide.
Hudson served with the Paducah Police Department for 10 years. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and father.
